The five foot mattress contains 3,000 pocketed springs in two layers, which provides a superbly supported sleep system.  Traditional fillings in the mattress are lambs wool, cotton, cashmere and hand teased horse hair.  These materials are traditionally the best combination possible to be found in any upmarket mattress.

The sides of the mattress have hand side-stitching to fasten and support the edge, which is hand sewn into horse hair border fillings.  The whole mattress is covered with top quality Damask and tufted with pure new wool tufts.  As we use extremely generous quantities of mattress fillings, the 5’0” by 6’6” standard mattress weighs approximately eighty pounds and has a sumptuous feel whilst giving superb support.

The base contains top quality pine material and is quilted with fine Damask quilting.  Shepherds castors and a heavy gauge, open coil wire surround spring completes the construction of the base.

All beds meet appropriate fire regulations and can be made in different widths, lengths, heights and firmness to suit each individual.  Bed linen is available for all beds.  Special sized beds and mattresses can be made to fit inside pine and antique beds.
